About Sidney Spit Marine Park

Sidney Spit Marine Park is a unique marine protected area located on Sidney Island, just off the Saanich Peninsula. The park is famous for its spectacular 2-kilometer sandy spit that extends into Haro Strait, creating a natural breakwater and pristine beach environment.

Accessible only by private boat or seasonal ferry service, Sidney Spit offers a true island getaway experience. The park features camping facilities, nature trails, and some of the best beaches in the Gulf Islands region.

The marine environment around Sidney Spit is rich with wildlife, including harbor seals, orcas, and diverse seabird populations. The sandy beaches and warm shallow waters make it an ideal destination for families and beach enthusiasts.
