By accessing and using Vancouver Island Life ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement.

2. Description of Service

Vancouver Island Life is a platform that connects property owners with potential tenants on Vancouver Island from Victoria to Tofino and beyond. We provide a marketplace for rental listings and facilitate communication between parties.

2.1. Adult Users Only

Our service is exclusively for adult users who are 19 years of age or older. By registering for and using Vancouver Island Life, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Users under 19 years of age are not permitted to create accounts or use our services.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of our service, you must:

• Create an account with accurate information
• Be at least 19 years of age or older
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

4. User Responsibilities

Users agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information in listings
• Not post fraudulent, misleading, or illegal content
• Respect other users and communicate professionally
• Comply with all applicable local, provincial, and federal laws
• Not use the service for any commercial purpose other than legitimate rental activities

5. Property Listings

When creating property listings, users must:

• Own the property or have authorization to list it
• Provide accurate descriptions and current photos
• Comply with fair housing laws and regulations
• Update or remove listings when no longer available

6. Payment Terms

Some features require payment through our secure PayPal integration. All payments are processed by PayPal according to their terms of service. Refunds are subject to our discretion and PayPal's policies.

7. Prohibited Activities

Users may not:

• Post discriminatory or offensive content
• Attempt to circumvent our payment systems
• Use automated tools to access our service
• Interfere with other users' use of the service
• Violate any laws or regulations

8. Content and Intellectual Property

Users retain ownership of content they post but grant us a license to use, display, and distribute it on our platform. Users must respect the intellectual property rights of others.

9. Privacy

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of listings or the reliability of users. We are not responsible for transactions between users.

11. Limitation of Liability

We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the service.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and remove all associated content at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. This includes, but is not limited to, violations of these terms, suspicious activity, or at our sole discretion. Upon termination, all content associated with your account may be permanently deleted. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
